Placement at Northwest General hospital & Research Centre, Peshawar as under.

Position:                     Neurosurgery Research Fellow

Department:              Neurosurgery

Location:                    Northwest General hospital & Research Centre and Northwest School of Medicine, Hayatabad, Peshawar.

Clinical Supervisor :   Professor Dr.Tariq Khan

Project Coordinator: Natalia Budohoska

Centre Director:         Professor Peter John Hutchinson

Host Institution:    University of Cambridge/Cambridge university Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Period of Placement:            3 Years

The Incumbent will be FCPS qualified in Neurosurgery, or equivalent as per PMDC criteria.
The Incumbent will be involved in, and undertake, the following:
1. All clinical work at the hospital
2. Collecting research data for all ongoing research projects of Cambridge University and National Institute of health research (NIHR) global health research group on Neurotrauma, University of Cambridge, as under:

a.      Theme 1 – Mapping TBI Care

b.      Theme 2 - Understanding TBI Care

c.       Theme 3 - Generating and Implementing Innovations in TBI

d.      Theme 4 – Measuring and Nurturing Research Capacity

3.   Regular Interactions with the project team in Cambridge though Skype and Email.
4. Visits to Cambridge University and Cambridge University hospitals NHS foundation Trust.
5. Placement as an observer at Addenbrooke’s Hospital or any hospital affiliated with Cambridge university.
